Local knowledge. Global resilience.
ResilienceWire is an independent, English-language publication about how communities prepare for disruption and strengthen resilience. We report on work by public authorities, municipalities, hospitals and other organisations, with an initial focus on the Nordic countries and the United Kingdom.
Useful examples are often described in local languages or published on websites that readers elsewhere are unlikely to find. ResilienceWire looks for those stories, checks the details against the original material and explains what others might learn from them. Our coverage includes preparedness and resilience, as well as critical infrastructure where it is relevant.
What we cover
We share projects, practical experience and lessons from organisations working to make their communities and services more resilient. We are not trying to be first with breaking news. A project from several years ago can still offer a lesson worth sharing.
When we cover older work, we make clear when it took place and when ResilienceWire published the article. The publication date is not a substitute for the date of the event or project.
Sources and reporting
We rely primarily on original sources: the public authorities, hospitals and other organisations involved in the work. We summarise their material in clear English, keep the context readers need and link back to the source so readers can check the details for themselves.
ResilienceWire’s starting point is the Nordic region and the United Kingdom. We hope to cover useful examples from further afield over time.
